South Florida Peacock Bass 11-2-08

The last few weeks in South Florida for Butterfly Peacock Bass has been good. Our water levels have dropped from all the summer rains and are now cooling off which should increase the fish activity. We had two guided trips and they were quite productive. Each trip we used mostly shiners and jigs. The peacock bass usually run a little larger this time of year. I've seen quite a few large males swimming with females already. The water temperatures in the high 70's usually mean great fishing and spawning. It's great to see these big fish still swimming shallow in these canals. For more information about fishing South Florida e-mail us at floridafishing@bellsouth.net or call me at (954) 445-1811.
