South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing 4-29-08

Would anybody like to catch peacock bass 2 to 3 times this size? How about 10 to 20 per day per angler? Well South Florida doesn't have them that size, but we do have is a great Peacock Bass fishery in Miami. Brazil fishing from March through August is usually slow because of high water. As water levels drop the fish are flushed out of the flooded jungle and become easier to target south in the Rio Madeira river. Then as the season progresses the camps and yachts move north into Rio Negro and it's tributaries. But in the mean time South Florida Peacock Bass fishing has been great and getting better each day. Today Hugh and Ruth Spegiel were out fishing with us and boated 38 peacock bass to 4 lbs. Thursday we're heading back to try for more great Miami fishing!

Butterfly Peacock Bass in South Florida

With the Amazon getting way to much rain now it's time to think about South Florida Peacock Bass fishing. Our season is heating up with two guide trips this week boating 44 peacocks up to 5 1/4 lbs. Jim Reed who has fished with us now 4 times got the big one this week. Miami peacock bass fishing is the only place in the continental United States to catch peacock bass. So until the Amazon fishing picks up in August if the water levels are good in the Rio Madeira river, give South Florida peacock bass fishing a try. These butterfly peacock bass get up to 6 or 7 lbs. on a regular basis. Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing Bookings

Now's the time to think about the fall fishing in Brazil for Giant Peacock Bass. These trips usually take a few months to get everybody together. Starting in July most Amazon operators position there yachts and cabins south in the Rio Madeira tributaries which is where the water is the lowest for this time of year. As water levels become to low they head north towards the Rio Negro moving on west from there.
